    • ]]>     Credit cards are a very interesting topic these days. The reason I say that is because how credit cards work are changing drastically. Because of the poor economy and the changes in laws around credit card companies getting credit cards has become much more difficult. To get unsecured credit cards for people with bad credit has become very difficult. The reason I say that is because credit card companies are becoming much more strict on who they give credit cards to. The risk has greatly increased with the poor economy so they try not to take as much risk as they did in the past. This does not mean that getting an unsecured credit card if you have poor credit is not possible, it just means that it is more difficult.

    One of the easiest things to do is to go to your bank and apply for a credit card. This is probably the easiest place to get an unsecured card because they already know your financial standing as well as some financial history. Another option would be to fill out and send in any credit card offers that you may have received in the mail. You might not be receiving offers in the mail anymore because many credit card companies have stopped sending them out to people with bad credit.

    If you have tried applying for unsecured credit cards and you have not had good luck, meaning you have been denied on all the applications you have filled out. You need to apply for a secured credit card in order to start improving your credit rating. Improving your credit rating is the quickest way to be able to obtain an unsecured credit card if you have bad credit and have been denied.  Another thing you should make sure doing is paying all of your bills on time. You do not want to have anything that is negative appear on your credit report so that your credit continually improves.

    I’m not going to lie it can be very difficult to improve your credit score if you have a long history of not paying your bills. Just remember to have faith that by consistently taking care of your finances your credit score will improve.  We know it’s not very fun to have to go through something like this in order to improve your credit but if you are not able to obtain a credit card that is unsecured then you really don’t have much option other than to go with a secured card.
