Student Loans Without Cosigner

How many students today are in need of student loans without cosigner type deals? There are thousands upon thousands of students in need of these types of student loans. Luckily there is federal financial aid available to the students who need this the most. We want to help teach you about how you can get student loans without a cosigner to help you pay for college.

The very first thing you need to do is fill out the free application called the FAFSA. This is what schools use to determine what type of financial aid you qualify for. Many students that come from low income families will qualify to receive federal pell grants. These are similar to student loans except that the student does not have to pay them back. If the student does not qualify for pell grants they will have the option to get student loans without cosigner.

There are two federal loan programs setup for this. These are the Stafford loan program and the Perkins loan program. Both of these do differ a little bit in the terms of the student loan, but both of these are student loans without a cosigner type programs. This means that regardless of the student’s credit or the parent’s credit history the student will qualify for the loans. This is the best option available to students today. We basically call this the student loan without cosigner program.

If you still need additional funds then you only really have a couple more options. The first one would be to apply for as many scholarships as you can and hope that you get picked to receive one or two of them. Student Loans No Cosigner

What is student loans no cosigner?  Well these days with so many people looking for a way to pay for college it makes a lot of sense that people are in need a getting student loans with no cosigner.  There can be many reasons for this, but most often it is due to the parents of the student having bad credit and not being qualified to help there son or daughter get a student loan.  Many people associate getting a loan with having a good credit history.  In a lot of cases this is probably true, but not in all.  It is possible to get student loans no cosigner if you do not really have credit established yet; it just may not be as easy as you may hope. 

 

Let’s take a look at some of the things you need to do in order to get a student loan no cosigner to help you pay for college.  The first thing you need to do is fill out the free FAFSA application.  This stands for Free Application for Federal Student Aid and is what determines what type of financial you will be eligible for.  After feeling out the application it will give you a EFC number which stands for Expected Family Contribution.  This is the amount that the student and parents are expected to contribute to the student’s education.  If this number is low enough it may be possible that the student will qualify for federal pell grants.  This is money that is given to the student and does not have to be paid back. 

 

After you have filled out the FAFSA and have been accepted to the school you plan to attend you will have the opportunity to apply for some federal loans.  These are the Stafford and the Perkins loans and neither of these loans requires any kind of credit check.  This is by far the easiest way to student loans no cosigner that you need to cover your college financial expenses.
